PXT has fallen after the company said average production in the fourth quarter came in shy of expectations and production guidance missed analyst forecasts. PXT said late Monday that production in the fourth quarter came totaled 57,329 barrels of oil equivalent a day. That was below the company's guidance of 60,000 barrels a day and analysts' expectations of 59,600 barrels a day. For the full year, average production was 54,356 barrels a day, virtually in line with analyst expectations of 54,800 barrels. Looking ahead, Parex said it expects average annual production to be between 54,000 to 60,000 barrels a day, which represents 5% year-over-year growth at the midpoint. Analysts forecasted 2024 production to average at 61,400 barrels a day, and 63,300 a day in 2025. For the year, it is a pretty big miss (more than 10%) and the stock drop is largely in line with the new numbers.
