If you were establishing a position in gold miners, which would it be with reasons. B2 has hardly come off it's low with a nice dividend, Why? Must be a reason. I have been following gold closely for 50 years, and usually it amounts to no more than the rate of inflation, even though people like your old boss Eric was calling for $5,000.00 gold 15 years ago. However, one shouldn't knock all that hot air because it made him many millions.
Thanks, Ben.
We like KRR, KNT, and AEM. Both KRR and KNT are expected to have good growth on the top and bottom lines over the next few years with solid balance sheets.
AEM is larger and. abit more stable than the others and the size might bring with it a bit of a higher correlation to actual gold prices in the shorter term.
BTO is trading at a cheap valuation (12.9x Forward P/E), with healthy growth in the last few years, and a strong balance sheet with an attractive yield.
It seems the more junior companies are not quite sharing in the gains that gold prices have seen. Part of this might simply be due to what has been a lack of interest in smaller-cap stocks over the last year, potentially leaving many names behind for now. Investors might also simply view them as a 'show-me' story and want to see higher gold prices work their way through the financial results of the smaller names before getting too interested.
