The S&P/TSX hit a record high on Wednesday on the backs of numerous quarterly results. BCE (BCE) reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit on higher subscriber additions in its wireless network. Bombardier (BBD.B) said engine delivery issues will force it to reduce the number of C Series aircraft delivered this year, but it expects to nearly double those shipments in 2018. Enbridge (ENB) posted a quarterly profit that was short of analysts’ estimates, hurt by a decrease in natural gas pipeline volumes, offsetting gains from the assets it gained in the $28 billion Spectra Energy deal, closed last September. Cenovus Energy (CVE) announced quarterly results that were in line with expectations. The company doubled its production compared with a year ago, boosted by its acquisition of most of the Canadian assets of ConocoPhillips (COP). Sleep Country Canada Holdings (ZZZ) tumbled after the mattress company reported a quarterly profit that missed estimates and analysts cut their ratings and price targets.
