We are very excited to announce that we will be rolling out updates to our website on June 16th. In order to facilitate this upgrade, our website will be down starting at 11 AM EST on June 16th and we expect it to be down for most of the day.
Once the website is up and running, we will send an email to members and also walk you through some of the changes, but at a high level, here are some features we are excited about:
- Improved look and feel – The changes modernize how the website looks and is easier for members to navigate while showcasing all of the great research the site has to offer.
- Pricing data on watchlists – We have added intraday stock prices to the watchlist feature along with some additional data points. We think members will get a lot of value from this change, allowing members to keep an eye on their holdings in a single place.
- Note: For new members, full watchlist functionality will be available to Portfolio Analytics tier only. However, current members on the ‘basic’ tier will retain full access to the watchlist and the enhanced functionality.
- Price alerts – Members can now receive email alerts if stocks on their watchlist move by a certain amount in a day. This can be a great prompt to help an investor stay up to date on their holdings that are on the move.
Now, the ‘bad’ news. With the improved experience and functionality to the website, we have also decided it is time to increase the prices of the ‘basic’ and ‘basic bundle’ tiers to a 5i Research membership starting next week. In turn, if considering upgrading to a bundle, we suggest a member does it this week to get the lower price. You can upgrade your membership here.
The price of a 5i membership will be increasing to $209.95 a year and the basic bundle will be going up to $234.99. Portfolio Analytics and the Portfolio Analytics bundle will remain at the same prices.
We understand that no one likes higher prices but we want to highlight a few of the reasons here:
- Over the years, the suite of tools within a 5i membership has increased greatly and the value/resources a member gets in return for the price is still very high value in our view, and difficult to find anywhere else.
- Membership rates remain on the lower side relative to most comparable services, while typically including far more features than comparable services.
- Prices have not increased for a few years now and in order to confidently continue to provide a great service, prices need to increase in order to add team members and improve the website.
- Even at these higher prices, we remain confident that members receive value well in excess of the membership rate.
That’s all we have for now. We would like to thank our members, as a lot of these new features were suggestions provided by the membership and we always appreciate the feedback helping us with improving the service and the 5i Research toolset.
Again, the website will be down on June 16th and we will notify members when things are back up and running with a bit more of a walkthrough on some of the changes.

It is hard for the DIY investor to keep track of them and they are useful to know.
Thx
