There has been some merger and acquisition activity recently in Canada. First Prism Medical, who sells accessibility equipment, was provided a take over offer at a 31% premium or $12.50 before the offer was increased to $14 due to other potential buyers submitting proposals. Interestingly, the share price still sits at a slight premium to the actual offer price. Then, Vail Resorts announced the takeover of Whistler Blackcomb for a cash and stock deal resulting in a 43% premium to the previous close for WB shares. While we are sad to see these two 5i Research coverage companies go, we are happy that the premiums are healthy and shareholders are being rewarded.
