US Fed is expected to push for bond tapering. Oil and gold prices rose supporting TSX futures. Canadian financials reported upbeat earnings this week. The US dollar slipped slightly. The Canadian dollar was 79.84. U.S. S&P500 ended the week up 1.25%, while the TSX ended the week up 1.2%.
Healthcare added 7.0% this week, followed by energy, which gained 6.6%. Technology inched up by 2.9%, while consumer discretionary edged up 0.5%. Financials and utilities gave up 0.5%, each. The most heavily traded shares by volume were Great-West Lifeco, Suncor Energy, and Sun Life Financial.
